As a registered dietitian, greens powders are increasingly on my radar for how they can complement a varied, healthy diet. A scoop of greens powder is a simple way to help fill certain nutritional gaps while supporting gut health with fiber, probiotics, and digestive enzymes.
People of all ages are increasingly using greens powders made with nutrient-dense superfoods like kale, wheat grass, and spirulina to help supplement their daily intake of fruits and vegetables.
Bloom Greens & Superfoods and Live it Up Super Greens are two of the most popular green powders on the market. After hearing good things about both products from my clients, I decided to try them to see how they compare.
Though I preferred the taste of Live it Up and was more impressed by its nutritional value, I can see why Bloom has become popular with those new to drinking greens powders. In this review, I’ll discuss my experiences with both products, from ingredients and purported health benefits to taste and price, to help you decide which green powder is better for your daily routine.
Comparing Bloom vs. Live it Up

Live it Up's superfood powders are well known in the nutrition community for their standout ingredients, nutrient density, and easy-to-drink flavor and consistency.
Live it Up's greens blend features over 20 plant-based ingredients, including organic vegetables, probiotics, and digestive enzymes. The focus is on green superfoods like barley grass, chlorella, broccoli, spinach, and moringa, which are packed with essential vitamins and minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and amino acids.
Perhaps surprisingly for such a “green” blend, Super Greens powder dissolves easily and isn't bitter or grassy. In addition to the popular Original, Live it Up also has a Wild Berries flavor that works particularly well in smoothies.

Purported Benefits of Bloom Greens
The purported benefits of Bloom Greens center on energy levels and digestive health, particularly bloating. Here are my thoughts on whether Bloom Greens follows through on these claims and what users have to say about their Bloom experience.
Energy
Many people drink Bloom Greens as a morning beverage instead of coffee or tea. According to the manufacturer, the green superfood ingredients support healthy energy levels by providing vitamins and minerals essential for normal bodily processes. Bloom's fruit and vegetable blend is supposed to contribute to normal energy production thanks to key micronutrients like fiber, antioxidants, amino acids, and fatty acids.
Matcha green tea leaf is included in certain Bloom Greens flavors. Matcha is rich in antioxidants, and many people drink it to improve their focus and concentration. Though matcha contains more caffeine than other green teas, it is a popular choice for people who want to feel more energized but without the jitters or crashes associated with drinking a lot of coffee.
Bloom Greens also features an adaptogenic blend of herbs like ashwagandha and astragalus root that may also help the body combat fatigue and stress, potentially helping users feel more balanced and alert.
In many reviews, customers had positive things to say about their energy levels while using Bloom.
“After taking it for nearly a month, I can say I seem to have a little more energy and my gut health seems to be better.”
Scott, Amazon review (April 21, 2024)
Bloating
One of Bloom’s most prominent health claims is that drinking Bloom Greens is an effective way to help with bloating. By supplying gut-friendly nutrients like prebiotics and probiotics, digestive enzymes, and fiber, Bloom Greens strives to improve regularity and ease uncomfortable feelings of fullness. However, Bloom never discloses the number of colony-forming units (CFU) for their probiotics, so it’s impossible to know if you’re receiving an effective dose.
Many users comment that they noticed an improvement in bloating discomfort after using Bloom Greens. Still, a small proportion of reviewers mention that they had the opposite experience when using Bloom Greens—it made their bloating worse, at least temporarily.
“I’ve been drinking this every morning for the last few months. I can definitely tell a difference with my bloating, AND digestion too. It helps everything “regulate” if you aren’t on a “once a day” schedule.”
Travis, Amazon review (Jan. 21, 2024)
“I did notice an increase in energy, however this cause(d) a lot of bloating. I also had (an) upset stomach the first day.”
RC, Amazon review (Sep. 6, 2024)
Digestive Health
The Bloom Greens formula aims to support the activity of beneficial gut bacteria, which may contribute to more regular bowel movements while minimizing digestive discomfort.
Though drinking Bloom Greens probably won’t alleviate symptoms caused by serious digestive problems, the blend's nutrient-rich ingredients may support normal gut function. For example, the numerous digestive enzymes in Bloom Greens may help break down specific macronutrients like fats and carbohydrates.
Customer reviews are mainly positive about Bloom’s digestive health benefits, with some crediting Bloom with helping them “go” more regularly and easing discomfort from gas or constipation. On the other hand, some reviewers said that Bloom had little to no impact on their overall digestive health, even with long-term use.
“Bloom Greens and superfoods helped my sluggish digestive system get into a more regular rhythm.”
Richard Vierzen, Amazon review (March 27, 2024)
“Sad that this has not helped my digestion at all. Hopefully, with continuous use, I will notice something, but so far, I am a week in and have not noticed any difference with digestion.”
Claire Lantero, Amazon review (Nov. 22, 2023)
Purported Benefits of Live it Up Super Greens
The potential benefits of Live it Up Super Greens include maintaining healthy energy levels, promoting normal immune function, and supporting gut health. These claims are well-supported by the ingredients in Super Greens, and numerous customer reviews describe positive experiences with the greens powder.
Energy
With a nutrient-dense formula rich in leafy greens like spinach, kale, and broccoli, Live it Up may contribute to sustained energy balance. These cruciferous vegetables contain vitamins A, C, E, and K, as well as folic acid, calcium, magnesium, and potassium, all nutrients that are known to assist with energy production and metabolic processes.
Live it Up customers frequently mention the improvement to their energy levels in Super Greens reviews, with some commenting that the naturally caffeine-free powder lessened the need to drink coffee and other caffeinated drinks throughout the day.
“I wake up every morning and Super Greens is the first thing that goes in my body. I feel balanced energy throughout my day, along with healthy digestion, and overall feel great.”
Alexandria S., Live it Up website review (Aug. 23, 2024)
“I have less bloating and better digestion. I have also experienced better overall energy during my day. I don’t get my usual 1-2pm slump. “
Shaunna P., Live it Up website review (Oct. 22, 2023)
Immunity
With the help of powdered greens rich in antioxidants, amino acids, polyphenols, and other bioactive compounds, Live it Up Super Greens is formulated to support the immune system. Ingredients like dulse, spirulina, chlorella, kale, and nettle leaf contain micronutrients essential for a healthy immune response, so a daily scoop of Super Greens may help bolster your body’s natural defenses, as noted in numerous customer reviews.
“Love it! Digestion has been great, haven’t gotten a cold or illness since I’ve been taking this.”
Sarah G., Live it Up website review (Feb 9, 2024)
“I also feel more energetic, and my immune system and digestion have definitely improved since taking it, and with a baby and toddler at home, this is exactly what I need right now.”
Petra S., Live it Up website review (Oct. 27, 2024)
Gut Health
Digestive health is another major focus of Live it Up that is frequently mentioned in customer reviews. The peppermint leaf, ginger root, dandelion, and alfalfa in Super Greens have been linked with regulated digestion, potentially helping to ease discomfort, gas, and constipation. In conjunction with a diet rich in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, the fiber content of Live it Up Super Greens may also contribute to regularity in the digestive system.
Along with a wide variety of gut-supporting greens, Live It Up Super Greens contains a digestive enzyme complex to help break down food. It also features five billion CFU of dairy-free probiotics to encourage a thriving microbiome.
“The whole family is regular (if you know what I mean), and my husband’s indigestion issues have improved tremendously.”
Melissa R., Live it Up website review (Feb. 23, 2024)
Formula Breakdown
While there are numerous similarities between Live it Up and Bloom, the differences became apparent when I examined the labels and noticed the contrasting formulas.
All-natural blend
One of the best things about Bloom and Live it Up is that both products feature 100% all-natural ingredients. There are no synthetic vitamins added to boost the nutrient content; instead, the plant-based ingredients provide naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Neither blend uses GMO ingredients, sugar, artificial sweeteners, or artificial flavors, and both are vegan, nut-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free.
Potential customers should note that the Bloom Greens formula is not ideal for individuals looking to avoid caffeine. Some flavors contain matcha green tea leaf, suggesting a small amount of caffeine in those blends. Additionally, Bloom Greens uses stevia leaf extract as a sweetener. While refined stevia extracts are considered safe by the FDA, some research indicates that frequent stevia consumption may interfere with the balance of beneficial bacteria in the gut microbiome.
Superfoods and ingredients
There is some overlap in the ingredients in Live it Up and Bloom, especially the green superfoods. Both blends contain chlorella, spirulina, kale, broccoli, barley grass, wheat grass, and alfalfa leaf, along with probiotics and digestive enzymes.
Beyond those core ingredients, Live it Up focuses on greens and seaweeds like nettle leaf, dandelion leaf, oat grass, kelp, dulse, and moringa, while Bloom includes powdered fruits and vegetables, including carrots, beetroot, cranberries, and goji berries.
Although Bloom boasts an impressive ingredient list, including adaptogens like licorice root and American ginseng, the label does not specify the quantity of each one. Despite the potential health benefits of these ingredients, there isn't enough information provided for customers to determine whether they are included in effective doses.
This is especially true of the probiotics in Bloom Greens. Although the powder features three probiotic strains, the Supplement Facts do not mention the number of colony-forming units (CFU). On the other hand, Live it Up Super Greens contains five billion CFU of dairy-free probiotics.
Similarly, the only nutrients mentioned in the Bloom Greens Supplement Facts are carbohydrates, dietary fiber, iron, and sodium, whereas Live it Up lists a wide range of vitamins and minerals. More transparency about Bloom's micronutrient content would help users determine whether the product is likely to benefit their health and nutrition.
Quality and safety
Both Live it Up and Bloom adhere to strict manufacturing standards for quality and safety, with their respective green powders produced in certified Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) facilities. The supplements feature some organic ingredients and are third-party tested to ensure they are free from contaminants like heavy metals.
While both products are free of major allergens, Bloom Greens is “made in a facility that also processes nuts and dairy products,” which may concern customers with severe food sensitivities.
Value Comparison
Encouragingly, Live it Up Super Greens and Bloom Greens are among the best-value green powders on the market, as they are affordable, nutrient-dense products with mainly positive customer reviews.
Regular and subscription costs
Bloom Greens is available in 30-serving and 60-serving containers, though certain flavors and sizes are sometimes out of stock on the Bloom website. While a 30-serving container normally costs $34.99, the price drops to $31.49 ($1.07 per serving) when you set up a monthly subscription.
Live it Up also offers a “subscribe and save” option, though with a more sizeable discount. With a monthly subscription (which can be canceled or paused at any time), customers receive 33% off the regular price of $59.99. At $39.99 a month ($1.33 per serving) for subscribers, Super Greens is marginally more expensive than Bloom, which makes sense considering the higher concentration of nutritionally dense ingredients in the blend.
Shipping
All Live it Up orders come with free U.S. shipping, including subscriptions and one-time purchases. Live it Up also ships to customers in the United Kingdom.
Bloom offers free shipping for U.S. customers on subscriptions and orders above $50. Unfortunately, a one-time purchase of a 30-serving container does not qualify for free shipping. Bloom Nutrition’s standard shipping policy covers the U.S. and Canada, though international customers may be able to order Bloom products for an additional fee.
Return Policies
Live it Up offers a 30-day customer satisfaction guarantee for first-time purchases. If customers are unhappy with their product, the customer service team will help initiate a return and refund the original purchase price, minus a shipping and handling fee.
Although Bloom does not have a customer satisfaction guarantee, they accept returns under certain conditions. Packages must be unopened, undamaged, and returned within 15 days. Customers are responsible for paying for return postage.
Flavor Review
Although nutritional value is likely to be the main consideration for customers, the taste and texture of green powders should not be overlooked. As these supplements are intended for daily use, it’s important to choose one you enjoy drinking.
Bloom Greens taste, texture, and mixability
Bloom Greens is available in Original, Mango, Strawberry Kiwi, Berry, Coconut, Orange Passionfruit, Citrus, and Pineapple. The wide range of fruit flavors is undoubtedly one of the reasons why Bloom has become popular on social media, with influencers weighing in on their preferred options.
Nonetheless, the taste of Bloom Greens has divided opinions among “ordinary” customers. While many users compliment the drinkability of their favorite flavor (Mango, Strawberry Kiwi, and Coconut seem to be the most popular), a substantial number mention that they found Bloom Greens to be excessively sweet.
I thought the Mango flavor was the most palatable, though somewhat artificial-tasting due to the use of stevia leaf extract. It worked best mixed in a fruit smoothie, as this helped disguise both the stevia aftertaste and the somewhat gritty consistency—an opinion echoed in numerous customer reviews.
“I should have considered the reviews before purchasing. Very strong aftertaste. Mixing with pineapple juice to get it down.
Terri M., Amazon review (Aug. 19, 2024)
“Love this product! I mix with juice and it’s delicious.
Gwynn, BloomNu.com review (Aug. 31, 2024)
“This has really helped with bloating, digestion, and water retention….but the taste is not great. I got the strawberry kiwi, but it really just tastes like chlorella tablets. I’ll try a different flavor next time.”
Chrissy S., Amazon review (July 11, 2024)
Live it Up Super Greens taste, texture, and mixability
Although I was originally disappointed that Live it Up Super Greens only comes in two flavors (Original and Wild Berries), I have become a fan of both of these options.
The Original flavor definitely has a slightly “green” taste, but it’s not bitter or unpleasant. Peppermint leaf gives the blend a refreshingly minty flavor that is enjoyable when mixed with water or milk. It also works in juice and smoothies, though I think Wild Berries is the better choice for fruit drinks. Live it Up uses monk fruit instead of stevia, so there’s no intense aftertaste.
Along with numerous Live it Up customers, I was pleasantly surprised by the mixability and consistency of Super Greens. Unlike many greens powders that leave clumps in your glass, Super Greens blends smoothly with any beverage. The fine powder dissolves quickly for a smooth texture that’s easy to drink.
“Love the taste of the Super Greens. Mixes easy. I feel the improved digestion from using it. Wish my subscription included variable flavors monthly just to mix it up.”
Mike W., Live it Up website review (June 3, 2024)
“The Berry flavor one is great for when you don’t want that heavy vegetable taste. Very easy to prepare. I do not eat leafy green vegetables like I should, so this is a great alternative.”
Cynthia B., Live it Up website review (Sept. 12, 2024)
Bloom Greens vs. Live it Up: Final Verdict
While there’s no replacement for a well-rounded diet, I recognize that getting the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables isn’t always possible. That’s why I’ve become a fan of high-quality, nutrient-dense greens powders.
Of the many greens powders I’ve seen advertised, Bloom Greens & Superfoods and Live it Up Super Greens are two of my favorites. Of course, everyone has unique health and nutrition needs and goals, so I’m hesitant to label a single product as the “best.” What works for one individual may not be the optimal choice for someone else.
Still, after reviewing the ingredients and nutrient content and trying both products for myself, Live it Up is the greens powder I would recommend to most of my clients. While Bloom Greens may be a good choice for people who need flavor variety to stay consistent with their supplements, Live it Up offers a denser diversity of superfood ingredients. Live it Up also gets my vote by including effective quantities of greens, probiotics, and digestive enzymes, with clear information about micronutrient content on the label.
While both products are affordable and adhere to strict quality standards, Live it Up Super Greens is the clear winner for taste, texture, and mixability. And with potential benefits for your digestion, immunity, and energy, Live it Up is a superfood supplement that you’ll actually look forward to drinking.
