As a public school teacher with less-than-ideal sleep habits, I'm constantly one sneeze away from a full-blown head cold or sore threat. Because of this, I'm constantly on the lookout for supplements or foods to help me and my immune system stay prepared for whatever bug might come my way.
I've tried almost a dozen different brands of greens powders over the years in an attempt to find one that has everything I need—and nothing I don't. Some flat-out didn't work, others worked but came with an unsustainable price point, and the worst actually worsened my gut issues (either through artificial flavors and sweeteners or something else, I still don't know).
When I finally found Live it Up Super Greens (formerly Ensō Supergreens), I knew I had to do a review. Well-designed with truly effective doses of the ingredients that matter most, it gave me everything I wanted out of a supplement, without the stomach-turning price tag I expected.
Super Greens at a Glance
If you're anything like me, you'll take the facts from this review and compare them to your research about other greens powders. To help, I've put together a quick cheat sheet with Super Greens' strengths, weaknesses, and anything else you might need.
- Avoids caffeinated ingredients like matcha or green tea
- Excellent probiotic and digestive enzyme blend
- No synthetic "filler" ingredients
- All-natural ingredients
- Effective doses across the board
- Actually affordable!
- Not available on third-party websites
- Strong mint flavor that some buyers may dislike (I loved it)
The Bottom Line
While Live It Up Super Greens doesn't include all of the bells and whistles that most greens powders try to add to their blends, that's actually what I liked most about it. Instead, this brand focuses on including the most high-impact ingredients in amounts that actually do what they promise.
Three months into using this super greens powder, my only real critique is that buyers who dislike mint should probably opt for another brand or wait for Live it Up's berry flavor to come out.

What Is Super Greens?
When I was first introduced to Super Greens, I thought they were one of the brand-new products that flood the powder supplement market month after month. After a little research, however, I learned that they were the new face of Ensō Superfoods, a tried-and-true greens powder company that had been on my list to try for some time.
Luckily, the Live it Up formula had all of the same features that intrigued me about Ensō when I first researched the company, such as their streamlined recipe, reasonable price, and commitment to all-natural ingredients.
Super Greens' Potential Health Benefits
Being a public school teacher comes with more than its fair share of stress and exposure to nasty germs, so my top priority was finding a greens powder to help support immune function and reduce my downtime due to whatever bug was going around.
Beyond that first goal, I also wanted something to help even out my energy levels, support better cognitive and brain health, manage my indigestion, and (hopefully) help me out with some better sleep.
Fortunately for me, Super Greens came through on all fronts.
Immune System Support
This was, by far, my highest priority when searching for a greens powder. While I'd tried other brands in the past claiming to include a "proprietary antioxidant blend," I'd experienced little to no benefits. So, rather than buying into the buzzwords yet again, I wanted a superfood blend that leaned on leafy greens and balanced, proper nutrition to achieve results.
That's exactly what Super Greens does.
While it may have fewer overall ingredients than some other brands (a little over 20, compared to 70+ with "premium" options), each of these ingredients is a natural, nutrient-dense powerhouse that provides essential vitamins and minerals for the immune system, such as magnesium, zinc, vitamin C, and B vitamins.
Regulated Digestive Health
High stress, poor diet, and outrageously high levels of daily coffee consumption are something of a perfect storm when it comes to impaired gut health, and I can firmly say I am in the eye of that storm. While I should probably put in the effort to fix my diet and reduce stress, I'll still take all the help I can get—which is where Super Greens come in.
This blend contains 5 billion CFUs of probiotics and two powerful digestive enzymes, bromelain and papain. With other greens powders I tried, I still needed to supplement with another probiotic, but I have no such issues with Super Greens.
Additionally, Super Greens opts not to include the high-octane fiber blend that so many other powders advertise. For me, this was a lifesaver, as I historically have negative reactions with high doses of insoluble fiber.
Finally, though I probably have a ways to go until I can claim "healthy" digestion, I'm no longer having such frequent bouts of upset stomach throughout the day since beginning to take Super Greens. So, even with room for improvement on my part, I'm more than thrilled with Super Greens' contribution to my digestive health.
Balanced Energy Levels
While plenty of greens powders promise to "boost energy levels," I found that the majority of brands achieve this so-called "boost" through the inclusion of caffeinated ingredients, such as green tea extract or cacao. As a devoted coffee drinker, it always seemed like just throwing more caffeine on the fire was a band-aid, at best.
What I like about Super Greens, then, is their deliberate choice not to include caffeine in their formula. Instead, they include healthy doses of things like spirulina and chlorella, which have been shown to regulate energy levels by helping your body produce more vitamin B6.
That way, instead of temporarily "boosting" energy levels only for them to come crashing back down, Super Greens has helped me achieve a steadier, more natural energy supply throughout the day.
Convenient Source of Essential Nutrients
Look at any greens powder's website, and one of the first things you'll see is a disclaimer that "greens powders are not a replacement for whole fruits and vegetables," which is true. That said, fitting whole fruits and vegetables into my daily diet is more easily said than done.
For me, the next best thing is a quality greens powder, like Super Greens, which actually gets the job done. Because they build their formula using organic vegetables, I know I'm getting a healthy dose of all the nutrients and vitamins I'd otherwise miss entirely in my daily diet.
Every day, I simply mix one scoop into my lunch shake, chug it down before the next period, and I'm a little closer to what most people would consider a "healthy" diet.
Improved Sleep Quality
This benefit was more likely a side effect of all the others, but it was nonetheless a greatly appreciated improvement in my day-to-day quality of life. Specifically, I found myself waking up less throughout the night—something I've struggled with since my teens.
I'm not sure if this was due to the sudden influx of vitamins and minerals, less tiredness throughout the day before bed, or something else, but it was a noticeable difference compared to my experience with other greens powders or no supplements whatsoever.
How Does Super Greens Support My Immune System?
Even beyond all the other personal benefits I've experienced since beginning to take Super Greens, the role it plays in supporting my immune system is, by far, the supplement's best feature (in my opinion).
No longer am I sidelined by lingering head colds and sore throats. Even when I do feel like I'm catching a bug, I just up my dose to two scoops as part of my early prevention routine.
Based on my research, Super Greens supports a healthier immune system in a few key ways:
- All-Natural Vitamins: Just like you'd get from including more fruits and vegetables in your diet, supplementing with Super Greens gives you a hefty dose of crucial vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C and B vitamins. These play a vital role in protecting your body from common illnesses such as colds and the flu.
- Gut Health Support: Like we're told as kids, you are what you eat. That said, you're only at your best when your gut is functioning at its best, meaning properly digesting and absorbing the nutrients from food. Super Greens' comprehensive probiotic blend and mix of digestive enzymes can help support your gut so you get the maximum value from the foods you eat.
- Antioxidant Complexes: Scientists have long known the role that antioxidants play in helping to keep your body healthy. By choosing a greens powder with all-natural sources of antioxidants, like Super Greens, you can help give your body what it needs to stay working at its best.
At the end of the day, I can only speak for my experiences with Super Greens and the other greens powders I've tried. That said, I cannot speak highly enough about just how much of a difference Super Greens has made in my day-to-day life. Not only do I not have to worry about added caffeine or insoluble fiber, but I also can avoid all of the artificial sweeteners that are all too common with some greens powders.
On the financial side of things, Super Greens has one of the best cost-to-value ratios of any powder I tried. At only $39.99 for a month's supply when you subscribe, free shipping, full control over how often you receive deliveries, and a money-back guarantee, I don't need to break the bank just for a little help with my health.
If you think that Super Greens may work for you the way they've worked for me, consider trying them out today and see for yourself if my review holds up.
Frequently Asked Questions
When talking to my friends or replying to comments, there are always a few questions that come up more than others. I've answered some of the most frequently asked below.
Where can I buy Super Greens?
At the moment, Super Greens are only sold directly through the company's website. That said, buying directly grants you free shipping and subscription discounts.
How much does Super Greens cost?
For customers who subscribe (like me), one order of Super Greens costs $39.99 for 30 servings. With a one-time purchase, this rises to $59.99, so I suggest opting for the subscription and, at worst, canceling if things don't work out.
Do greens powders have any side effects?
Like all supplements, some people may have adverse reactions to greens powders. Although these reactions are rare, always check a powder's ingredient list to make sure you are not allergic to anything listed. If you're taking prescription medications, speak with your doctor before beginning any supplement.
Can Super Greens replace my multivitamin?
One of the primary potential benefits of a greens powder is their ability to replace multiple other supplements in your medicine cabinet. Depending on what you take and what doses of various vitamins you need, Super Greens could, indeed, replace your multivitamin. In order to know for sure, compare Super Greens' label to the label of your current multivitamin.
